Obituary for Anna Vernell Black
Anna Vernell Black of Cadiz, Kentucky, died Friday, February 12, 2010 at 11:20 p.m. in Skyline Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee, she was 74.
Anna Vernell Black was born in Fayette Co., Illinois, on January 27, 1936. The daughter of Vern Elmer and Valia Marie (maiden name Evans) Lourash. She married Merril George Pope. Anna was a member of the Ponderosa Baptist Church, Trigg Co., Kentucky. She retired from Motorola Phone Company, Schamburg Illinois.
She is survived by her son Dan Pope and his wife Pamela of Cadiz, Kentucky. Daughters Nanci Amundsen and her husband Allen of Arab, Alabama and Melody Polanec with her husband Ed of Cadiz, Kentucky. Brothers Waller Lourash of Decatur, Illinois and Gerald Fravela of Huntsville, Alabama. She was the proud grandmother to ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Vern Elmer and Valia Marie Evans Lourash, her husband Merril George Pope, a daughter Ann Marie Black who died in 1972, and brother Allen Fravela.
