90 year old, Fay Wilson of Decatur Illinois, formerly of Ramsey died Saturday, January, 9, at 8:42 AM, in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be Thursday, January, 14th at 11:00 AM in the Wallace-Carroll Funeral Home, Herrick, with Doug Lowery, officiating. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM, Wednesday, January 13, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, Decatur Illinois. Burial will be in Myers Cemetery, Herrick Township Shelby County Illinois.
Fay Wilson was born Friday, August 22, 1919, in Ramsey Illinois, the daughter of Silas Wright and Sallie Ann (maiden name Barnett) Carter. She married July 14, 1939, to Ivy E Wilson. Ivy and Fay moved to Decatur in 1947. Fay was a member of Bethel Temple and Maranatha Assembly of God in Decatur. She worked at George’s Care, Houdi Hershey, Permacel Tape, G.E., and Decatur Electronics.
She is survived by a daughter Brenda Meritt, her husband Gary, Sons Lynn Wilson, wife Debbie, and Charles Wilson. Brother Wade Carter and sister Jewell Manley. Grandchildren Lisa Smothers, husband Daryl, Gary L. Meritt, wife Michelle, Michelle Meritt-Bently, Heather Wilson, Trevor Wilson, Jesse Wilson. Great-grandchildren: Shelly Smothers, Doug Smothers, Jessica Bentley, Haley Meritt, Michael Meritt, Alanna Bradford. She was preceded in death by parents, Ivy Wilson, who died October 15, 1988, four brothers Irvin, Ivan, Andy, Earl Carter, and two sisters Joy Wherle, Iola Bumgardner, and great-grandson Dean Allen Smothers.
