Leon Vits, 85 of Pana, Illinois died Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Heritage Health-Pana. Funeral Services will be Friday, November 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM in Kennedy & Sons Funeral Home, Pana with Father Rodney A. Schwartz officiating. Visitation will also be Friday, November 5, 2021 at Kennedy & Sons beginning at 10:00 AM until time of Service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pana Township, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Pana Sacred Heart School. Leon Vits was born Thursday, April 2, 1936 in Shelby County, Illinois the son of Leon Frank and Opal Margaret (maiden name Morrison) Vits. He was raised in Oconee attending Oconee Sacred Heart School and Pana High School. Leon married Betty Ann Keller on October 2, 1954 in Pana, Illinois. He was the owner of Vits Nursery and Landscaping and belonged to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Pana. Leon Vits is survived by his Wife: Betty Ann Vits of Pana; Daughter: Connie (Scott) Fribley of Pana; Son: Rick (Kathy) Vits of Oconee; Grandsons: Tim (Michelle) Vits of Yorkville, Illinois; David Vits of Montgomery, Minnesota; and Brad (Molly) Vits of Taylorville, Illinois; Great-Granddaughters: Breanna Vits, Paige Vits, Baila Vits, RyLee Vits, and Astrid Vits; Great-Grandson: Ogden Joseph Vits; and Step Great-Grandchildren: Becca, Jessie, and Jack. Leon Vits is preceded in death by his Parents, and Sisters: Rosemary Beck and Wanda Schmitz.
